Bimini 2021 Ecotour!

11 – 16 July 2021

Our research & education efforts on Bimini were effectively paused on Bimini in 2020. But, we are hopeful travel will be safe in summer 2021 – so we hope you’ll join us on an ecotour! A DCP-led ecotour ensures we can collect valuable data on wild Atlantic spotted and bottlenose dolphins. Participants are able to assist as much or as little as they’d like all while experiencing these amazing creatures, the beautiful waters and the character-filled, off-the-beaten-path island of Bimini.

DCP Deep Dive: Listening Underwater: Using Passive Acoustics to Investigate Dolphins Habitat Use

In this Deep Dive, DCP is joined by Valeria Paz, a PhD candidate at Florida International University, where she has been studying the ecology of bottlenose dolphins in the Florida Everglades since 2014.

Valeria explains how she is using passive acoustic technology to better understand the habitat use of bottlenose dolphins in the Florida Everglades estuary.

Curious about the other study Valeria references in her talk (other researchers’ passive acoustic studies after hurricanes)? Download Fandel et al.
