This was the smoothest travel day we have ever had to Roatan from Florida. Driving the 2 hrs with hardly any cars on the road at 7 AM. The Miami airport was calm and our TSA lines short! Even though our flight was delayed, we arrived on time with a smooth flight. It was actually short – less than 2 hrs long. The immigration line was the usual length but moving faster than usual! It was delightful to see Brayon and we were the only two on the AKR shuttle … so it was a private ride!
Of course, we checked in, dropped our bags at our room and headed to RIMS to pick up the MVA case and then to Baileys to see the dolphins. Everyone was present and accounted for and looked great! Kami has grown, as has Gizmo! Even Bailey’s calf had some rake marks.
The trainers let us know there is a 4 ft nurse shark in the main lagoon area. Let’s see if we can see it tomorrow!
Our arrival was punctuated by rain showers …
when going for the MVA case and coming back from Bailey’s Key. And, we arrived on Fiesta Night to celebrate the New Year in style!
We decided to wait for the CSU students to participate in any of the games! Our last order of business was to put the MVA together and get the gear ready for the morning. Done!
Looking forward to our first session of 2025 on the second day of the new year!
Cheers
