I am still trying to comprehend where exactly this year has evaporated to! It’s passed in the blink of an eye, and I’m almost packed for my next trek to Roatan to collect more data and make more observations of the dolphins at the Roatan Institute for Marine Sciences (RIMS) at Anthony’s Key Resort (AKR)! I’m looking forward to seeing Ronnie, Gracie, Alita, the juveniles, even the rambunctious (sometimes pushy) young males, and, of course, the training team, and RIMS and AKR human teams! It’s very much like returning home.
I’ll be joined this visit by 5 ecotour participants: Don and Bill are staunch supporters and regulars, while Marie, Felicia, and Morgan are newbies and I look forward to meeting them. We all arrive early afternoon tomorrow to Roatan and then the research adventure begins. Of course, some of the folks will also be SCUBA diving and snorkeling. I’m pleased they’ll also help with data collection and are interested to learn a bit more about the dolphins and our research and the scientific foundations. After all, this week is our first Adult Education Ecotour!
Stay tuned here all week for regular updates!
Cheers
Kathleen
