Group Change Over

Today was the shift from CSU to URI students joining DCP at AKR and RIMS to study dolphins and learn about science, the environment, dolphins, and conservation! The featured photo is of the URI group after arriving and before our Orientation with Jen, RIMS Education Director. Below is the final photo with the CSU Bubble Guppies in front of the Dolphin Sculpture by Bill Gee.

The CSU group had one final data collection session with Kathleen and Manon this morning. The visibility improved slightly and there was a mild current in the water. The two situations are likely correlated! It was good to observe Sandy and Tilly with Elli and her calf.

We said so long to Shane, Paige, Don, and the CSU students late in the morning, and welcomed the URI group with Justin and Jamie mid-afternoon. It was a windy afternoon but warm and welcoming for this group who started their day way too early this AM!

We look forward to another great week collecting data on the dolphins and learning about their social behavior and that of the other critters living in the waters around Roatan.

Cheers

Kathleen, Manon and the URI student group!
