DCP Deep Dive: Exploring the Dolphin Mind
What do we actually know about dolphin minds, and how do we know it? Can they mentally keep track of objects? How do they coordinate their cooperation? Do they really have names? In this talk, Dr. Kelly Jaakkola will discuss a number of research projects on different aspects of dolphin cognition, exploring what we really know about how dolphins think.
Dr. Jaakkola studies how dolphins think. As Director of Research for the Dolphin Research Center, she has investigated dolphin cognition and communication for over 20 years, including studies on number concepts, object permanence, imitation, communication, and cooperation.
This Deep Dive is geared toward ages 14+, but all are welcome.
