Our first session for October went very well! I was able to collect about 31 min of video with the MVA and both GoPros (front and back facing). And, I was greeted by nearly everyone. I saw Mr. French and Tilly but did not think I got them on camera, then saw Tilly behind me on reviewing the footage! Of course, as the first data collection session of this visit, it felt more like the dolphins were recording and observing me (feature photo)! There was also much seagrass object play – by Kami and by Ronnie (see below) but also Alita had a piece she passed from pec to body to fluke and Gizmo and Buzz both played with sharpnosed pufferfish. There were lots of vocals and very reduced “personal” space!

Don and Bill had fun on today’s dives with the second one being the most fun with the most animals seen. Morgan and Felicia partook of the afternoon snorkel trip. Marie spent some time with me reviewing video data and the surface log from this morning’s session. She also attended the fish ID talk and enjoyed the stories shared.
Dinner wrapped up with a yummy banana ice cream … We look forward to tomorrow’s early morning session and the visit to Maya Key!
Cheers
