Research in All its Forms

Nearly the whole ecotour gang joined me this morning to help collect data. We got some good surface observations, which was a positive since the underwater visibility was just yucky! I could not see more than 2-3 feet in front of me with any clarity. I collected about 14 minutes of video but barely saw the dolphins. That said, I did get a chance to collect space use data during the afternoon encounter and Meredith, Bailey, and I worked on the reading study training practices. The photo here shows a few dolphins playing in the shallow water after the encounter.

Tonight was the night dive and the water generally was much more calm and with better underwater visibility outside the lagoon area. Our divers had between 2 and 4 dives today (go Kate & Shannon!) and our snorkelers enjoyed shore and boat snorkels.

A delightful day was had by all and we look forward to more of the same tomorrow!

Cheers
