Wind, Wind, and more Wind

Downgraded to a tropical storm and more northerly.

The rain joined the wind late in the morning and stayed for most of the morning. The tropical storm ushered in the rainy season in Japan. June typically is represented by mostly rainy days. Not like the old USA saying 'April showers bring May flowers.' Not sure what the expression is in Japan. I'll have to look into that. The low pressure system is mostly over us with rain or cloudy skies predicted for most of the week. Rain is okay, but I watch for the winds to drop. We will be wet anyway with entering the water. Just need the winds to lessen so the sea will lessen and the boats can again go out. Tomorrow should be okay … somewhat. Thus, our day was spent inside, reading science papers, working on some data files and watching two more videotape to confirm dolphin ID's. Only two more to go, beside the new ones we record over the next couple of days. It's hard to believe that in ~7 days, I will begin to clean and dry my gear for the return trip to the USA. Til tomorrow, Kathleen
