DCP Deep Dive: Right Whales, What’s Wrong?

*Content Warning* – Conversations about whale deaths, photographs of entangled, injured, and dead whales are included in this talk.

North Atlantic Right Whales (NARW) are critically endangered and face many threats throughout their habitat on the Atlantic coast. Join us to learn more about the plight of NARWs, including their life history, the threats they face, and how you can help.

This Deep Dive was led by Lauren Rust, founder and director of the Lowcountry Marine Mammal Network (LMMN). Lauren has been working with marine mammals worldwide for the last 22 years. She’s also the South Carolina state coordinator for all marine mammal strandings including dolphins and whales. This work involves responding to the 50-60 marine mammals that strand each year. Lauren discusses LMMN’s work and how she and her team are speaking up for right whales.

This Deep Dive is geared toward ages 14+, but all are welcome.
