DCP Deep Dive: Investigating Killer Whale Behavior from Multiple Perspectives & Locations

In this webinar from the DCP team, you’ll learn about our recent research into killer whale behavior – activity budgets and inter-animal interactions – from above and below water perspectives. We are studying killer whales, the largest dolphin species, the same way we have investigated bottlenose and Atlantic spotted dolphins over the years, and we are comparing video data for both managed care and wild populations from multiple sites.

Viewers get three (yes, 3!) researchers in one webinar! Dr. Manitzas Hill is a comparative psychologist and full professor of psychology at St. Mary’s University who likes to study marine mammal behavior and cognition. Manon Themelin is a DCP research associate whose oversees DCP’s killer whale research and helps coordinate with student data coding. Her recent research focus has been pair swim positions among dolphins. And Dr. Dudzinski is the founder/director of DCP and has spent more than three decades studying dolphin behavior and communication in multiple locations from the underwater perspective.

Deep Dives are geared toward ages 14+, but all are welcome.
