This talk, given by DCP’s own Kathleen & John, will share snippets of DCP’s latest project, bringing a drone perspective to data collection at the Roatan Institute for Marine Sciences (RIMS). John will discuss details about drone flying and logistics while Kathleen will talk about the science and analyses of the imagery and behavior caught on the drone camera.
John Anderson is a semi-retired documentary filmmaker who has supported DCP with visual imagery and consults for more than two decades. (Semi-retired means he can be choosy about the projects he does!) Also, he is currently perfecting his French Baguette recipe American-style, which makes Kathleen, Baloo, and Hazel’s mouths water.
Kathleen Dudzinski, Ph.D. is Founder/Director of DCP and has spent more than three decades studying dolphins from the underwater perspective. Adding drone footage gives her improved hindsight on dolphin behavior outside the lens of her MVA, especially when dolphins follow or speed toward her!
This Deep Dive is geared toward ages 14+, but all are welcome.
