We’ve been waiting all winter for it, but the research season in Bimini has officially begun! On Thursday I departed on the inaugural dolphin trip for Bimini Adventures’ newest boat addition. This comfy outboard is perfect for small and medium-sized groups, including today’s four passengers. I really enjoyed chatting with you all. Thank you for the wonderful conversation.
We departed shortly after 2 p.m. in search of dolphins. They made us wait a bit, but we were pleased to be able to watch six bottlenose dolphins from the boat. It was especially exciting to see two mother/calf pairs in this group. The dolphins were traveling north, so it was not conducive to underwater observations, but everyone still got a great view! In this photo, you can see one of the older dolphins surfacing.
Another trip tomorrow!
