Long, good day!
So, it was a nice a little Saturday. We slept in, since, well, we usually do. Our work day isn’t exactly the 9-5 of the business world. Most days, we don’t get home from the dock until 9 p.m. So, we tend to sleep in, with our work day shifted to later hours. This morning began with beginning to log Tape 7. We made some good headway with it, and hope to have it done in the next two days or so, giving us the rest of the week to tackle Tape 8 and Tape 9. It is going to be a long week!
Then we had an afternoon boat trip with folks who, for the most part, were only with us for today. We hope everyone had a good time. We considered it a complete success because we were able to swim with Prince William Joseph of Wyckoff (#64, aka, “Billy”). We got good still shots and hopefully good video to show how well his recently sustained injury is healing well. For those of you who didn’t read our field report from 9 August, Billy recently suffered a pretty bad injury to his peduncle. We are thinking that it may be from a boat propeller, but we aren’t sure. We are continuing to hope for a speedy recovery for him.
We also swam with #77 (Dolphin Dandy) and #22 (Split Jaw) and #38 (Cerra). From the boat we also saw #10 (Romeo) and #81. It was a good day and our full dolphin week starts tomorrow.
Until next time,
Kel and Darcie
