Kathleen Dudzinski

Kathleen Dudzinski

A playful, young dolphin from our Bimini, Bahamas field site has received her name! ID#084 is now known as "Addie." Addie is a juvenile female who was first added to our photo-ID catalog in 2006. She is the independent offspring of Trudy (#57) and received her name from DCP supporter Sandra Roberts. Now that Addie's name is official, you can support DCP's research and education programs by adopting her today! Want something a little more flattering? How about a nice comfy t-shirt with her image front and center? Click to adopt Addie or click to shop Addie Gear. And of course, she has her very own Dolphin Trading Card - click here to order yours!

Thanks for the support Sandra!

Adopt-A-Dolphin - Holiday extras!

Adopting a dolphin through the Dolphin Communication Project is great out-of-the-box holiday gift. Okay, okay, we're a little biased, but our kits really do make great gifts. And by adopting a wild dolphin, you ensure that DCP is able to continue not only to research dolphins around the world, but also carry out all sorts of great education programs.

This holiday season our kits give you even more. First renew your dolphin adoption or purchase a new adoption from DCP between now and December 18th and we'll enter you into a drawing to win a signed copy of Dolphin Mysteries, by DCP Director, Kathleen Dudzinsnki.

Second, with all adoption kit purchases or renewals received before December 18th, will include a bonus - a free copy of our DVD, "Bridging the Ocean Divide." This 24-minute video features one of DCP's early education programs sharing our understanding of dolphins with students from Japan and the USA!

Happy Holidays!

Squidoo Thanksgiving Cookoff!

Squidoo Thanksgiving CookoffSquidoo is giving DCP another chance to win some much needed cash - but we can’t do it without your help!

Each day until Thanksgiving, Squidoo.com will donate $1,000 to one of their registered charities. On Thanksgiving day, they will be giving away a whopping $5,000! In order for a charity to be eligible to win the cash prize, someone (maybe you?) has to create a “Squidoo lens” (AKA webpage) about a Thanksgiving food related topic. It could be the Ultimate Thanksgiving Gravy, secret stuffing, a goofy or unexpected Thanksgiving food tradition, etc. After you’ve created the lens, simply choose to donate to the Dolphin Communication Project as your selected charity and we'll be entered to win the daily giveaway. It’s free and easy and would be a huge help to DCP!

For all of the details, head here: http://www.squidoo.com/squidoo-thanksgiving-cookoff.

For those of you already familiar with Squidoo, make sure your lens creations originate here or Squidoo won't know they are for the cookoff for charity: http://www.squidoo.com/cobrand/create_lens/Squidoo%2BThanksgiving%2BCookoff-68431.

Thanks for your help!

Squidoo is offering prize-money to the squidoo-charity that gets the most votes from the public. If you vote for the Dolphin Communication Project, you could help us win a snazzy $3,000. WIth just a couple clicks of the mouse, you can make a huge difference!

Why should we be awarded this cash, you ask? Well, like you, we're crazy about dolphins and determined to learn as much about them as possible. But, like most things, this costs money. Optimism for the Irrawaddy?

Mainstream media has picked up the story of a World Conservation Society study which found "a stronghold for one of the world's rarest freshwater dolphins, the Irrawaddy." The survey documented almost 6,000 individuals in Bangledesh; quite a surprise considering previous population estimates were as low as a few hundred. The species still faces many threats from human activities, but perhaps this attention will encourage their protection!
