Farewell Bimini!

Friday was Pam’s and Liana’s last day on Bimini. We started the day off with our second talk aboard thesummerinterns_gallantlady2012 Coral Reef II, this time to a small group of middle-schoolers from Chicago. It was great to be back on the boat, especially with such a welcoming crowd. This time, Pam and Liana got to participate a little bit more in the talk, which was great experience for us. The kids were very well informed and were able to answer a lot of our interactive questions. It was a pleasure to give a talk to such a nice group. They were in especially good spirits for having crossed the rough Gulf Stream the night before. We know that they are going to have a lot of fun on the rest of their trip. Thanks for having us!

We spent the rest of our last day packing, visiting a few of our favorite places on Bimini, saying goodbye to the friends we had made, and reflecting on our internship. The four weeks flew by for both of us and we are sorry to leave. We have a feeling that we will be back to Bimini someday! Every day was a new experience for us and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. We met some great people, loved our time on the dolphin trips, and learned a lot during our time here. Bimini and DCP certainly left a good impression on us and we hope that we did the same in return. We’ll miss the dolphins, the Bimini blue of the water, the hot sun (sometimes), and the Gallant Lady in our backyard (which we are pictured in front of, here), but we are looking forward to things to come. We are thankful for all our experiences and everything we have learned. Thanks DCP!

Farewell for now,
Pam and Liana
