No spotteds, but plenty of bottlenose

A sunset bottlenose sighting

Today the seas were a bit calmer, but apparently the spotted population was tired out from yesterday! We were without dolphins for the first 3 hours and 45 minutes, but at 19:11 we saw two bottlenose dolphins. We know that this will shock everyone, but the bottlenose were not very interested in us or the boat. Shocking, huh? We thought a few quick glimpses would be all we would get, when suddenly we realized that were in the middle of a group of at least 20 bottlenose dolphins- the largest single group of the this species we had ever seen. This doesn’t mean that they were any more interested in us, but they did stick around as they went about feeding and mating, so we were able to get a some very nice looks. We left the animals as the sun began to set, please with a very nice day on the boat. Last trip of the week tomorrow!

Until then,
Kel and Darcie
