My research in Japan has a primary focus, with a secondary comparative aspect. The focus concerns dolphin signal exchange and use of contact behaviors between individuals. I am interested in dolphin social behavior and communication. The comparative aspect is between my work on Atlantic spotted dolphins and that on the bottlenose dolphins around Mikura Island.
